Denis Savard Appearance

Chicago Blackhawks head coach and Hall of Famer Denis Savard will be signing autographs this upcoming Saturday, March 1, at the Kmart Super Center in Tinley Park (16300 Harlem Ave.) at 3 pm.

Hopefully, I will be able to attend this signing. I have an old photo of Savard, from the 1989-90 season, that I would love to get signed. The picture is 11″ x 14″, so it is too big to mail to him. I also have some cards I can (hopefully) get signed too.

UPDATE: I went to the signing, and have posted about it here.

  1. The Denis Savard appearance was wonderful. It is so nice to meet a celebrity that is appreciative of his fan base, accessible and fun. Merely standing in line had its merits, also. Fans brought all sorts of things to be signed. Rare posters and old newspaper clippings came along with hockey cards of every vintage, pucks, and jerseys. The woman that was in line behind us is a huge fan. She admitted that her whole basement is packed with Blackhawks memorabilia and collectibles -being entirely hers, as her husband has no interest in hockey- and that Savard is dang good lookin’. Ah, female sports fans and our crushes! Overall, the event was fun and festive. Also, most kindly, a certain webmaster handed off an autographed item to a latecomer and his mother whom were not able to arrive in time to get in line for autographs. Overall, a terrific event.
