My article in Beckett Hockey

Beckett Hockey #208Today, I achieved a longtime goal of mine: I have an article published in Beckett Hockey Magazine. It is in the newest issue, number 208, which is arriving in card shops and newsstands this week.

Beckett Hockey #208 - Blackhawks Convention ArticleMy article appears on on pages 18 and 19, in the “Signing Session” column. It is about getting autographs at the Chicago Blackhawks Convention back in July. Three photos I took at the convention are used to illustrate the article.

I can’t express how “geeked out” I am to have my name in print in one of my favorite magazines–it’s almost surreal. Beckett Hockey is an international publication and is the “be all end all” when it comes to hockey cards. Being a “published author” in such a well-known and well respected hockey periodical is a dream come true for me. I’ve wanted to have an article printed in Beckett Hockey since September 1990, when it first came out. I was 15 at the time, and though I’ve been a decent writer since high school, I never thought that something like this would ever happen.

Not to pat myself on the back too hard–or jinx myself–but I will have two more hockey articles published next month: one in Beckett Hockey issue 209 and the other in Beckett Sports Card Monthly issue 286.

So now you know why I haven’t added any new articles to this site in over a week!
