1994 New York Rangers Stanley Cup Championship Replica Ring

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the New York Rangers 1994 Stanley Cup Championship. Earlier this season, the Rangers gave away a replica Stanley Cup ring to fans who attended the February 8, 2019 game vs. the Carolina Hurricanes — and it is awesome!

I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking.

Each side has a full-color Rangers logo and the words “Heave Ho” below it.

“Rangers” spelled out in diagonal letters (naturally), along with 22 fake diamonds, are surrounded by the words “1994 Champions.”

The ring is big, but not big enough to fit over the knuckle my ring finger. Here it is next to a quarter to give you a size reference.

The ring even came with its own display stand, made out of plastic and felt.

Chase Bank was the sponsor. The ring came in a box measuring 3″ by 3″ by 2-5/8″.  Two pieces of Styrofoam (the environment be dammed!) keep the ring and holder securely in place.

The top of the box has the Rangers’ anniversary logo.

This may very well be the greatest game-day giveaway by a hockey team ever. And if this ring did fit comfortably on my finger, I would probably want to wear it all the time.

Question: What was the nicest item you received as a giveaway at a sporting event, hockey or otherwise? Leave a comment below and let me know.

  1. A few years ago, after a Blue Jays game, they were giving out free single serving boxes of Frosted Flakes with Tony the Tiger wearing a Blue Jays jersey.
    That was Awesome!

    1. That is pretty cool. I have an empty, flattened box of Frosted Flakes with Tony the Tiger wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey. I’m not sure where I put it, though.
