  1. The boom of 1988-91 had a very different feel. Cards were everywhere. Even the grocery store had them in places. They were cheap and plentiful and everyone could participate. This boom is exclusionary. Even if Upper Deck let the presses run on a cheap set and listed it at a dollar a pack, I’m not sure it would reach the masses.
