13 More Figures to Collect – Including Goalies!
On Tuesday, McFarlane Toys announced the release of 13 new NHL SportsPicks hockey action figures. Making this release particularly exciting is that this is the first time the toyline will include goalies. Igor Shesterkin and Jeremy Swayman join 11 skaters in the latest assortment of SportsPicks figures.
The full checklist of new figures is as follows:
-
-
- Connor Bedard (Chicago Blackhawks)
- Cole Caufield (Montreal Canadiens)
- Kyle Connor (Winnipeg Jets)
- Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins)
- Jonathan Huberdeau (Calgary Flames)
- Jack Hughes (New Jersey Devils)
- Quinn Hughes (Vancouver Canucks)
- Kirill Kaprizov (Minnesota Wild)
- Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche)
- Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals)
- Igor Shesterkin (New York Rangers)
- Jeremy Swayman (Boston Bruins)
- Brady Tkachuk (Ottawa Senators)
-
While all figures come with a display base and backdrop, the goalies – unfortunately – do not come with nets.

I think one of the best features of the original SportsPicks goalies is that they came with nets that were made of actual mesh. Heck, the goalie figures back then even included water bottles.
Another disappointment is that the one-per-case chase variant figures seem to be a thing of the past. Usually, one figure in every six-figure case would have a different uniform, such as the white road jersey instead of the color home jersey. This time, all six figures found in the case are the same, eliminating the “chase” element to NHL SportsPicks.
By my count – and not counting the larger, 12-inch figures – there have been two Cole Caufield, two Sidney Crosby, three Alex Ovechkin and three Connor Bedard figures at the 7-inch scale since the line was reintroduced in 2023. While I understand why including Crosby and especially Ovechkin are important, maybe the world didn’t need another Caufield or Bedard figure just yet.
The new SportsPicks figures can be ordered at the McFarlane Toys website. The entire 13-figure set can be purchased for $520, while individual figures cost $40 each or $240 for a six-figure case of the same figure.
