Since this year’s Topps Hockey Sticker Collection consists of 800 stickers, you would need to purchase four 50-pack boxes (or at least 160 packs) to get enough stickers to try to build a set. I don’t like buying single packs because they cost $1 each, whereas a 50-pack box can usually be found for $35 or $40 if you look hard enough. Heck, even paying $50 for a box is OK because you know you will get the two parallels inside.
Over the past few days, I’ve opened three boxes of 2024-25 Topps Hockey Stickers (see the first, second, and third breaks before reading this). I’m down to needing 122 stickers to finish my set. Let’s see how I did with my fourth box.
What I Got in My 4th Box
My box contained a total of 250 stickers. There were no quality control issues. All stickers were in good condition and there were no doubles within the box; that is, I did not pull the same sticker twice within the 50 packs.
198 Regular Stickers

Each pack of stickers has four regular (paper, non-foil) stickers. If the pack has a parallel sticker (Blue, Red, or Gold), then it has only three regular stickers. While I did not get any doubles within the box, of course I did get quite a few repeats from previous boxes. More on that later.
50 Foil (Insert) Stickers

Every pack has one foil sticker. I got 50 foil stickers total.
But these weren’t the only shiny things I got.
1 Blue Parallel Sticker

I got one Blue Foil Parallel sticker of Joonas Korpisalo, who is pictured with the Ottawa Senators but now is with the Boston Bruins. The sticker is numbered 056/100. I only got one Blue Foil Parallel because I also got…
1 Red Parallel Sticker

Wow! A Red Foil Parallel – and of a superstar. This Red Foil Parallel is of Minnesota Wild winger Kirill Kaprizov and is numbered 09/10. You get one Red Foil Parallel in every five boxes of 2024-25 Topps NHL Stickers. Of course, if you get a Red Foil Parallel, that means you only get one Blue Foil Parallel in your box.
Breakdowns by 100s
For what it is worth, here is the number and percentage of stickers I got in each grouping of 100.
Stickers 1-100

27 regular stickers
7 foil stickers
= 34 stickers / 13.6% of the box
Stickers 101-200

22 regular stickers
7 foil stickers
= 29 stickers / 11.6% of the box
Stickers 201-300

23 regular stickers
4 foil stickers
= 27 stickers / 10.8% of the box
Stickers 301-400

25 regular stickers
6 foil stickers
= 31 stickers / 12.4% of the box
Stickers 401-500

25 regular stickers
6 foil stickers
= 31 stickers / 12.4% of the box
Stickers 501-600

19 regular stickers
13 foil stickers
= 32 stickers / 12.8% of the box
Stickers 601-700

29 regular stickers
5 foil stickers
= 34 stickers / 13.6% of the box
Stickers 701-800

28 regular stickers
2 foil stickers
= 30 stickers / 12% of the box
Each group accounted for between 10% and 13% of the box. This time, I got a few more of 1-100 (34 stickers) and of 601-700 (34 stickers).
Progress on My Set
It was only a matter of time before I hit the wall. Out of the 198 paper stickers I got in this box, 193 were duplicates from prior boxes – meaning that I only needed 5 of the regular stickers.
On the other hand, only 4 of the foil stickers I got were doubles from my previous boxes, giving me another 46 foil stickers towards my set. This box is the opposite of my third box, which gave me 46 foil sticker doubles.
Overall, my fourth box of Topps NHL Stickers gave me 51 more stickers towards my set. This puts me at 581 regular stickers (out of 600) and 148 foil stickers (out of 150) for a total of 729 (out of 800) stickers. With one box to go, I still need 71 stickers.
Getting 46 foil stickers that I needed was great! But getting only 5 regular stickers towards my set? Well, that kind of stinks. On the upside, I did get a Red Foil Parallel, so I’m not as annoyed as I should be. Plus, the foil stickers – at one per pack but making up 25% of the set – are always tougher to get, so getting many that I needed was a big help.
I got one box left to break. Look for the results to be posted tomorrow.

Sal, if they are available I’ll buy your Sabres doubles. That Blue Rasmus was beautiful too!
Hi Andre. Thanks for reading. I will keep that in mind.
