2010-11 Upper Deck Series 1 box break #3

My last box of 2010-11 Upper Deck Series One. Would it get me some good cards? Let’s find out.

Results for Box #3

169 Base Cards – Thankfully, all 169 cards were different from each other.

6 Young Guns Rookie Cards – Eric Tangradi, J.T. Wyman, Tommy Wingels, Zac Dalpe, Arturs Kulda and Nick Leddy. All a bunch of “Scrub Guns,” as I like to call them, but I’m really happy that I got a Nick Leddy RC. He started the season with the Blackhawks, but is back in Rockford for some more seasoning. I have high hopes for Leddy.

Inserts

6 20th Anniversary Parallels – Andrew Cogliano, Pascal Dupuis, Mikael Samuelsson, Mark Streit, Dion Phaneuf and Mikail Grabovski. As I’ve said before, if anyone gets these parallels and wants to trade them, let me know.

2 Hockey Heroes – I got HH7 and HH8.

All-World Team – The two All-World Team cards I pulled were Mike Richards and Nicklas Backstrom.

The Hits

UD Game Jersey Ray Emery – Emery is still in rehabilitation after surgery in April, where he had hip surgery. He had a disease called avascular necrosis, where the bone cells die, causing the bones to collapse. It is the same surgery that did-in Bo Jackson‘s career. Fortunately, doctors were able to removed the diseased tissue before it spread.

UD Game Jersey Drew Stafford – Any Sabres fans wanna trade for this?

But wait! There’s more!

UD Exclusives Taylor Hall, numbered 061 / 100 –  WOW, a limited-edition card of this year’s best second best third best fourth best best rookie. Do I sell it? Do I wait and see if Hall becomes a superstar…and then sell it?

In three boxes, I did all right:  I got a complete set and 18 different Young Guns–including one “high end” RC. So, I did as good as I had hoped. The Exclusive Edition Hall card was just icing on the cake.

I am trying to finish a second base set, as well as acquire the other 32 Young Guns I need.

  1. Wow….nice break Sal. I had to talk myself out of a trade offer for the Hall. I think I would have to give up a little more than I wanted to land that fish!

I am sure it will make up for the cost of all three boxes in the end whatever you choose to do with it!
