Plus: the BVG 10 Bobby Orr Rookie Card
Episode #82: February 4, 2021
In this episode of the Puck Junk Hockey Podcast, Sal Barry and Tim Parish talk about the recent price increases from the U.S. Post Office and PayPal issuing tax forms to “small-time” eBay sellers — and how these impact the hobby. Plus, they discuss new hockey card releases, Sal’s birthday presents and the BVG 10 Bobby Orr rookie card (which, unfortunately, was NOT one of Sal’s birthday presents). Episode #82 is 1 hour and 56 minutes of pure hockey goodness!

Hi, I enjoy listening to you and Tim. Thanks for discussing the shipping issues out there. As a Canadian, the shipping cost to Canada with eBay has totally ruined my chances of buying something on eBay from the US unless it is a higher value item. I am sure US sales to Canada are way down because of it. I wish more US sellers would just take their own initiative and give the option to send the old-fashioned way and throw a magazine, comic, or low-cost card in an envelope and hope it arrives ok.
Unfortunately we are in a time where people aren’t ok with “hope it arrives”. On eFee especially, people tend to complain about EVERYTHING!! I do feel what you are saying though. Cross-border B/S/T has definitely taken a hit. It sucks even more because let’s face it, hockey gets WAY more traction in Canada than the US. I don’t think eFee has the PWE option for shipping to Canada either because of the international classification.
But you heard the show…I’m still the salty guy that hates PWE!
Hi John, thank you for your comment and for listing to our podcast. Agree 100% with everything you said. In my opinion, shipping to Canada from the U.S. should only cost about 10% more, if that, because all the U.S. Post Office has to do is take it to the border and then it is literally “out of their hands.”
