Quinton Byfield and Upper Deck Sign Exclusive Autograph Deal

Upper Deck announced today that they have signed L.A. Kings first-round draft pick Quinton Byfield to an exclusive autograph deal. Upper Deck will sell memorabilia autographed by Byfield, who was picked second overall in the 2020 NHL Draft. He is the highest-drafted black player in NHL history. Byfield made his NHL debut on April 28, 2021 when he suited up for the Kings against the Anaheim Ducks.

“We are proud to have Quinton as an exclusive spokesman,” says Gabriel Garcia, Director of Upper Deck Authenticated. “He’s already made NHL history and we look forward to being a part of his journey as he continues to break barriers. We couldn’t be more excited to offer his fans a collection of new and authentic memorabilia.”

Some of the autographed items bearing Byfield’s signature are signed L.A. Kings hockey pucks, signed Sudbury Wolves jerseys and signed prints varying in size from 16″ x 20″ to 16″ x 24″. Items are available for purchase at the Upper Deck’s online store and range in price from $399 to $999. Upper Deck Authenticated is also selling prints autographed by Byfield and fellow 2020 Team Canada teammate Alexis Lafreniere, who was selected first-overall by the New York Rangers in 2020.

Upper Deck Introduces Lineup of Exclusive Quinton Byfield Autographed Memorabilia

New Portfolio of Products Gives Hockey Fans Access to Never-Before-Seen Authentic Signed Memorabilia Featuring the Young Superstar

CARLSBAD, Ca. (May 4, 2021): Exclusive Upper Deck spokesman Quinton Byfield made history back in October by becoming the highest-drafted black player in NHL® history.  Byfield continues to make history with his NHL® debut for the Los Angeles Kings®.

Quinton spent the beginning of the 2020-21 season with the Ontario Reign®, the team’s Los Angeles’ AHL® affiliate. With the Reign this season, Byfield played in 30 games and managed to score eight goals while collecting 20 points. Now, the young star will have his opportunity to shine on the big stage.

Coinciding with his call-up, Upper Deck, the premier global sports and entertainment collectibles company, released new autographed memorabilia for Byfield.

“We are proud to have Quinton as an exclusive spokesman,” said Gabriel Garcia, Director of Upper Deck Authenticated. “He’s already made NHL® history and we look forward to being a part of his journey as he continues to break barriers. We couldn’t be more excited to offer his fans a collection of new and authentic memorabilia.”

An autographed L.A. Kings acrylic puck will be one of the first Los Angeles Kings products to launch as part of Byfield’s new portfolio. The puck features the Kings’ logo along with Byfield’s signature and jersey number, 55. The puck will be one of the first of many Quinton Byfield autographed memorabilia items available for fans to purchase.

The portfolio also includes an exclusive signed piece featuring both Alexis Lafrenière and Quinton Byfield titled “Dual Attack” that showcases their skills in homage to Canada. Byfield’s home country will be well represented in ‘The Great White North’, a printed piece that incorporates the iconic Canadian flag as the backdrop against the Ontario native sporting his Team Canada uniform in the foreground. His signature is inscribed with the number ‘19’ on the print; the number Byfield wore while winning the gold medal during the 2020 World Junior Championships.

To commemorate the event, autographed and authenticated Team Canada® jerseys are now available from Upper Deck. Red and black variations of the jersey can be found on UpperDeckStore.com and each iteration includes an inscription acknowledging the major triumph.

To honor Byfield’s accomplishments as the 2019 CHL® Rookie of the Year, a “2019 ROY” inscribed print, limited to just 19 pieces, will also be included as part of the new collection. Fans looking for Sudbury Wolves jerseys will also be happy to find autographed versions of Byfield’s recognizable blue and white OHL jerseys.
