The second round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs have been nothing short of exciting thus far. We’ve had upsets, blowout games, injures, and even a player continue a feud with another player off the ice. It’s all in this week’s edition of Snap Shots!

The last two weeks of playoff hockey have been awesome! There were five series that went to seven games, a few comebacks, and an upset. I give a quick recap of all eight Round 1 playoff series. Plus, Montreal wins the Draft Lottery and an AHL goalie scores a goal.

After a week off (because Sal was sick) the Puck Junk Podcast is back. Since the 2006-07 season, Upper Deck has made O-Pee-Chee brand hockey cards. But you won’t find holograms, gold foil, UV gloss coating, or any other modern features that you usually see on Upper Deck cards. Instead, modern-day O-Pee-Chee cards try hard to look like old Topps and O-Pee-Chee cards from 40 years ago. The cards are free of foil or gloss and printed on plain brown cardstock, giving these new cards a very retro feel to them.
2021-22 O-Pee-Chee Hockey cards cost around $60 for an 18-pack hobby box. Each pack has 10 cards. I recently opened a box of OPC. Let’s take a look at what was inside.

The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs started last night, and that got me thinking about which NHL veteran I would like to see win the Stanley Cup this year. Yes, Joe Thornton, who has played for 24 years now in the NHL, is my obvious choice for “greybeard” who I want to see win the Cup. But there are many other worthy veteran NHLers that have toiled year-in and year-out and also deserve to sip champagne from hockey’s ultimate prize.
Here is a list of the oldest player from each playoff team who has yet to win the Stanley Cup, and why we should be rooting for each of them this spring.
I was pretty sick over the past seven days, so I didn’t get to publish Snap Shots for last week. Therefore, this week’s edition will take a look at the top 10 stories from past two weeks in the world of hockey. But don’t worry — this will be a quick read, I promise 🙂
